The five-storey longtime Northbridge home of the late former prime minister Bob Hawke and his wife Blanche d’Alpuget was touted as having been sold for about $15 million.

But the price on settlement emerged as $9.2 million.

Hawke and his then-wife Hazel paid $1.23 million for the three-bedroom knockdown overlooking Sugarloaf Bay in 1991, just seven months before he lost the top job to Paul Keating.

After their marriage ended, the property was kept by Bob and transferred to Blanche’s name in 1999.

Blanche has bought in One30 Hyde Park development for $3.6 million.
