Berry's Willow Farm listed by writers Amy Willesee and Mark Whittaker
Willow Farm, the longtime Berry retreat of writer Amy Willesee (of the famed media family) and her writer husband Mark Whittaker, has been listed for sale.
Since 2014, the 65 hectare grass-fed sheep and cattle farm has been a popular wedding venue with party shed and bookings year round, but especially September to May.
The homestead is 100 years old, set in its own valley, along with farm stay and a yoga shala.
South Coast Prestige Properties listing agent Carrie Bond said her vendors “love of gardening is the creative force behind the flower beds, orchards and landscaping”.
The rambling country gardens feature roses, hydrangeas, magnolias and a jacaranda.
There are old dairy doors covered in ivy and pergolas dripping with wisteria.
The grounds come with a freshwater creek, orchard, veggie garden, a chook run, plus a pond with an island.
It was Amy’s mother, Carol Willesee who ran a herd of Murray Grey cattle at the former dairy after its 2003 acquisition.
The then Botany-based couple took on the farm after Carol, a former model and actor, and ex-wife of television journalist Mike Willesee, died in 2006 from the rare Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
It seems Whittaker and Willesee have decided it’s time to write and travel some more.
The duo wrote Love and Death in Kathmandu: A Strange Tale of Royal Murder in 2003.
