The Australian Property Institute has appointed Amelia Hodge its first chief executive officer.

Hodge takes over from Mike Zissler, who lead the institute through a three-year transformation.

Hodge has been CEO of the Queensland Law Society, leading 13,000 members of the legal profession.

Her prior senior executive roles included time at Powerlink and Origin Energy.

The API’s national chair Tyrone Hodge told members she had the diverse experience and leadership attributes to lead the organisation through the next phase of API’s board strategy.

“With the property industry experiencing significant technology and business model disruption and the associated risks and opportunities that evolve from that, Amelia offers the necessary skills to drive the API’s objectives.

A strategic alliance with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has been undertaken by the 90-year organisation.
