Raine &amp; Horne has appointed its chief operating officer, Brian Reid as CEO of the international real estate group.
Mr Reid assumes the position of CEO from Angus Raine, who will focus solely on his role as the firm’s executive chairman.
Angus Raine has been the CEO since 2006, recently concentrating on expanding the business in Australia and overseas.
“We opened an office in Dubai early this year, and are fielding interest from local and overseas parties keen to secure a relationship with a well-known, established Australian real estate Superbrand which is regarded as a market leader in the provision of efficient IT systems, training and marketing,” said Mr Raine.
“Brian has an impressive and extensive real estate franchising resume, and over the past 12 months has been implementing a number of exciting initiatives around our IT platforms, and is driving the delivery of a new responsive design website, which will be launched very soon.”

Federation Centres has abruptly axed its chief executive Steven Sewell, replacing him with Angus McNaughton, the former chief at Novion Property Group.
The shock announcement sent Federation's ASX share price into a 4% dip yesterday.
Sewell headed the merged $22 billion property company after Angus McNaughton bowed out of contention for the top job once the two companies merged.
Federation Centres had only just announced Richard Jamieson in the role of chief financial officer and executive general manager investments replacing Tom Honan.
Richard Jamieson was formerly chief financial officer at Novion Property Group.

Heritage Bank has appointed senior banking executive Peter Lock to take over as the chief executive officer from the retiring John Minz. 
Chairman Kerry Betros announced today that Mr Lock would take up the new role on Monday, 23 November. 
Mr Lock has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector, including previously the chief operating officer for the Bank of Melbourne. 
From November 2013, he was managing director of Parkside Partners, his own corporate advisory firm based in Melbourne. 
The outgoing CEO John Minz announced his intention to retire, after 22 years at Heritage, including 12 as CEO.

Investa Property Group has appointed Jonathan Callaghan as its chief executive officer and Peter Menegazzo as its chief investment officer.
The CEO appointment was announced by the chairman, David Baffsky.
Mr Callaghan has been with the group for more than 10 years, initially as group general counsel and more recently as managing director and finance director.
Mr Menegazzo has been with Investa for over 11 years.

REIV director Geoff White has been acting CEO.

Off-the-plan property listing site iBuyNew has announced a new chief executive to helm the firm as it looks to expand its sales volumes.
Founder Mark Mendel is making way for a new CEO, Alex Caraco, who has more than 35 years of sales leadership experience in the real estate sector and will be handling the day-to-day affairs of iBuyNew.
Caraco has deep connections in China, where iBuyNew recently set up a satellite office, adding to its three offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. 
Mendel said he would be taking on the role of head of strategy as the company looks to ramp up its presence.
“While I have worked tirelessly for almost a decade on different iterations of what you now know as iBuyNew, it is now time to hand over the CEO position to someone that has over 35 years of sales leadership and experience that will not only build a larger salesforce within our business but also deliver a better result for those that we work with,” Mendel wrote in a letter released to the media.

Denita Wawn appointed CEO, Master Builders Australia

Theme park operator Ardent Leisure’s chief executive Deborah Thomas has stepped down to make way for former COO of Nine Entertainment, Simon Kelly, the company said in an ASX announcement.
But she is staying with the group.
The transition was initiated by Thomas herself, after the completion of  a review of the group’s global growth strategy, following the divestment of the non‐core health club and  marina assets, Ardent said.
The news comes just a month after corporate raiders Gary Weiss and David Baffsky bought a 5.7 percent stake in the troubled theme park and arcade operator, The Australian Financial Review noted.
Kelly will assume his new role from July 1, Ardent said on Wednesday, while Thomas will take on the role of chief customer officer for the group and chief operating officer for its Australasian business.
Thomas was the CEO when the Dreamworld tragedy occurred at the theme park in October 2016, in which four people were killed after a ride malfunctioned. She was the CEO for tow years.
It also reported a weaker-than-expected performance at its US Main Event Entertainment business in February.
In another high-profile departure, chief financial officer Richard Johnson resigned to return to the UK and be with his family, Ardent said.
Announcing the CEO change, Ardent Leisure Group chairman George Venardos said, “We are pleased to announce this significant boost to our management team."
"Simon, who will transition to the role over the next few months with the support of Deborah, brings to the Group a wealth of experience in the management of multinational operations, financial control and the  entertainment sector.”
Ariadne, the vehicle of Weiss and Baffsky, bought into the company that shed more than one-fifth of its value on the day of its February interim results announcement.

Henry Ruiz has been appointed CEO, REA Group Asia.
He has been acting in this position since March 2017 and is responsible for the Group’s Asia business including iProperty Group across Southeast Asia and Chinese property site myfun.com.
Mr Ruiz reports to REA Group CEO Tracey Fellows and will keep his his position on the Board of PropTiger, the Group’s joint entity in India.
Tracey Fellows said Asia is a key region in our long-term growth strategy and Henry has made a big contribution since he took on the interim role.
"He is well placed to continue to lead our Asia business and execute our regional strategy,” he said.
“We are focused on creating innovative consumer products and drive better value for our customers.
"This includes the launch of new iOS and Android apps in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia in the last few months which leverages the leading experiences we’ve created in Australia to help people search for their dream home.”
Henry Ruiz, CEO REA Group Asia said the chance to transform the way people search for and buy homes in a region which is still so early in its transition to digital real estate advertising is very exciting.
