Shane Warne's $6 million Brighton flip windfall
After less than two year's ownership, test cricket legend Shane Warne has profited from flipping his Melbourne home.
Capitalising on Melbourne's soaring prestige property prices, Warne has sold his six bedroom Brighton mansion again, reputedly pocketing $20 million.
It was the heritage home he only bought back in August 2016 for $14.2 million, have been listed at $15.5 million.
The spin king's off market sale last month secured an "extraordinary" $6 million windfall when sold to an overseas buyer, Channel 7 News sports journalist Tom Browne reported on Triple MMM's Hot Breakfast.
The paperwork that has emerged so far does not show the sale price.
Melville is a single-level Victorian mansion, that features a fully tiled auto-clean pool and spa, mod-grass tennis court and four car garaging within its formally landscaped 3014 sqm grounds.
The celebrity couple had paid $3.6 million in 2000, then spending that amount again on a major renovation and extension.
It was one of many homes which has made Warne's name synonymous with luxury Brighton homes.
CoreLogic calculated Melbourne house prices are up six percent in the last year, compared with Sydney which is down two percent.
