Shane Warne's Brighton trophy home passed in at weekend auction

It is scheduled for December 5 auction.
It comes with lower price hopes than his hopes prior to Melbourne's COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

The French Provincial-style home was listed in March with a price guide of $6.8 million to $7.4 million.
There is now a $5.8 million to $6.38 million guide for the five bedroom, five bathroom home through JP Dixon’s Jonathan Dixon.
The Newbay Crescent home boasts a pool and spa, plus a home cinema, nightclub-quality bar, and wine-tasting room with space for 530 bottles.

Warne paid $5.4 million in early 2018.
He announced the upcoming auction on twitter, “Yes we are selling our family home … Sad but I know this amazing house will make a family very happy and they will create their own amazing memories!”

The retired cricketer Shane Warne is officially seeking to secure another profitable property flip in bayside Melbourne at pre-Easter auction.
The legendary spinner has listed his Brighton home with a guide of $6.8 million to $7.4 million.
It would see the King of Spin turn a tidy profit, albeit not quite the $8 million he was rumoured to be seeking last year.

Warne paid $5.4 million for the contemporary French Provincial-style double storey home just less than two years ago.
It was bought from private investigator Anthony Thompson, who had bought it from Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd and his wife, Lisa Marie.
Warne has updated the five bedroom home with a nightclub style bar.

There’s Miele kitchen appliances and Calacatta benchtops, plus a basement room for a gym or children’s retreat.
There’s an auto-clean pool and spa.
There's been no formal reason behind the listing through JP Dixon Brighton agents Jonathan Dixon and Chris O'Farrell.
It is going to be put to April 4 auction.
He's rumoured to have bought into the Saint Moritz apartment complex at St Kilda, which is still a way off completion.

Warne has regularly traded up and down on the Brighton property scene, and made a handsome profit trading homes.
It started in 1996, when a 27 year old Warne, who was already four years in to his Test career, first bought in the affluent suburb.
He spent $902,000 1920s home which was sold for $2.61 million after renovating four years later when he upgraded to the trophy home, Melville, which he's actually owned twice.

It is speculated Warne is seeking about $8 million.
The Newbay Crescent contemporary double-storey home with a home theatre, pool and spa, was bought from private investigator Anthony Thompson for $5.4 million before its modernisation.
It was previously owned by the Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd, for nine years until 2015.
Warne is a frequent player on Brighton's property scene, and he's made a handsome profit playing the game.
He's owned the trophy home Melville twice.
He first bought it for $3.6 million in 2000, spending around the same amount on renovations and selling for $8.8 million in 2007.
He then <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/56732-shane-warne-boomeranging-back-to-former-brighton-home-melville" target="_blank">bought the property back in 2016</a>, paying $14.2 million, only to <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/81421-shane-warne-s-6-million-brighton-flip-profit" target="_blank">sell it 20 months later</a>, with no extras, for $18,888,888.

The retired cricketing champion Shane Warne has bought again in Brighton, not far from the one recently sold for about $20 million.

The spin king reportedly paid about $5.5 million for his new Melbourne home, according to Domain and the Herald Sun.
It was the home of AFL Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd for almost 10 years.
Lloyd sold the lavish five-bedroom property to private investigator Anthony Thompson for $4.2 million in 2015.
The recent off market sale was something of a familial cricket deal as Thompson is the father-in-law of Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram who married Shaniera Thompson, whom he had met while on a visit to Melbourne in 2011 while participating in a poker tournament at Crown Casino.
Warne's recent circa $20 million sale of Melville made a nice profit on that property, after paying $14,249,999 to buy it back in August 2016, CoreLogic records show.
It was the second time Warne had sold the 1880 bluestone mansion on a 3014sq m block.

Capitalising on Melbourne's soaring prestige property prices, Warne has sold his six bedroom Brighton mansion again, reputedly pocketing $20 million.
It was the heritage home he only <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/56732-shane-warne-boomeranging-back-to-former-brighton-home-melville" target="_blank">bought back in August 2016</a> for $14.2 million, have been listed at $15.5 million.
The spin king's off market sale last month secured an "extraordinary" $6 million windfall when sold to an overseas buyer, <a href="https://twitter.com/7NewsMelbourne" target="_blank">Channel 7 News sports journalist Tom Browne reported</a> on Triple MMM's Hot Breakfast. 
The paperwork that has emerged so far does not show the sale price.
Melville is a single-level Victorian mansion, that features a fully tiled auto-clean pool and spa, mod-grass tennis court and four car garaging within its formally landscaped 3014 sqm grounds.

The Brighton trophy home merry-go-round appears to be well oiled with the former Aussie cricketer Shane Warne selling his redundant home, Camden at a likely $5 million plus through JP Dixon's Paul McKenzie and Marcus Gollings.
The four bedroom manor, modelled on a Mediterranean villa (above), has been bought by Lyn Watson who has been known to be seeking such a home. Warne bought it from IMG's Australian head, Martin Jolly, for $3.95 million in 2014.
The cricket legend will be moving back into Melville, the Brighton trophy that he previously shared with ex-wife Simone Callahan.

The Herald Sun reported the spin king's redundant Brighton home came with price hopes of $5 million to $6 million.
The house has been restored since his purchase in 2014.
The Herald Sun reported JP Dixon director Jonathan Dixon completed the secret resale to Warne, but would not comment on the details. The sale took place when Warne was in the UK on his cricket commentary commitments.
His agency has Warne’s Kinane Street home, Camden (below) for sale.
