Former Austrian tennis champion Thomas Muster has scored $5.5 million for his modern Noosa Heads riverfront property.

Muster's ex wife Jo Beth Taylor and son Christian had been living in the home, according to the Courier Mail.

It had been listed at $5.9 million after Muster had spent $6.6 million on adjoining riverfront homes on the same road in 2015.

He bought the 612 sqm site in 2013 for $2.8 million before the three bedroom Tim Ditchfield designed home was completed in 2014.

A swimming pool and heated spa take advantage of the river views.

Tom Offerman at Tom Offerman Real Estate sold the home.

Muster first bought into Noosa in 1994 when he paid $1 million for Cintamani, a 35-hectare hinterland property.
