A 1925 Somerton Park home has sold for $1.67 million making it Adelaide’s most expensive weekend auction sale.

The four bedroom home, known as Carlisle, at 27 Scarborough Street, sits on 1231 sqm near the beach.

It last sold for $1,247,000 in 2013.

It features a formal lounge on the first floor then another lounge room on the second level.

There is also a dining room, served by a timber-laden kitchen.

A master bedroom upstairs features its own ensuite and dressing room.

A large alfresco pergola sits between the swimming pool and tennis court.

The property was offered through Tyson Edwards and Mandy Edwards of Harris Real Estate.
