The Hunter and Geelong remain spring 2017 auction powerhouses: CoreLogic

The Hunter, followed by Geelong are the hottest auction markets as the spring selling season comes to a close.

The Gold Coast and Blacktown are the weakest regions when it comes to auctions held on the November 25 weekend.

One of the houses sold at the weekend auction was a three-bedroom house at 6 Dent Street, Merewether (picture above) that was sold under the hammer for $1,450,000.

Overall, auction volumes increased week-on-week returning a preliminary clearance rate of 66.9 per cent.

There were 3,409 homes taken to auction across the combined capital cities this week, returning a preliminary auction clearance rate of 66.9 per cent, overtaking last week as the third busiest week for auctions so far this year.
