A record $8.4 million has been paid on the Brisbane riverfront at auction last night.

The riverfront home at Bulimba ranks as the city’s most expensive property ever sold under the hammer.

The five-bedroom European-style mansion at 95-99 McConnell Street saw two families compete after the initial $5.5 million offer.

The prized north-facing 1473 square metres of land comes with 32 metres of river frontage.

The 95-99 McConnell Street, Bulimba offering sold through Sarah Hackett of Place Estate Agents Bulimba.
