The opulent late 1980s Brisbane mansion built by Christopher and Pixie Skase has been sold for $10.138 million.
Star Hotel Group boss Steven Shoobridge secured the luxurious home, best known for his 2016 Brisbane CBD penthouse sale to former prime minister Kevin Rudd and Therese Rein for $8 million.
Shoobridge also recently secured the sale of their Abian apartment for $4.12 million.

The hotel-like residence on Dickson Terrace was constructed by Skase and his wife Pixie in 1988 who quit Australia for Majorca in 1991.
The recent occupants were Sir Yii Ann Hii and his estranged wife, Soo Hian Beh. They got around town in a with 1VIP numberplates on their 2005 Rolls Royce Phantom.
Set around the medieval circular staircase as 50ft internal Bell tower, they paid $6.25 million for the already palatial residence in 2001.
The property had been on the market with multiple agents since 2016 with hopes as high as $25 million.

Skase-built Bromley sold on Hamilton Hill

The historic hillside Brisbane home, Cremorne at Hamilton has been sold by Fone Zone co-founder David McMahon and wife Tracey, following their move to Aspen, Colorado.
The <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-hamilton-123306210" target="_blank">Mullens Street home</a> on its 2400 square metre block fetched $5,975,000 when auctioned through Sarah Hackett at Place Estate Agents.
The couple, who paid $6,625,000 in 2015, were only the third owners.

Galen Gunn is the director of Hawcs, an aerial surveying company that servicespowerlines and utility providers. Their Brisbane move was prompted by schooling opportunities for their two sons.
Designed by architects Eaton and Bates, it comes with a new pavilion extension by BVN Donovan Hill, crafted from imported French zinc and featuring floor to ceilings glass, that received the 2009 Queensland division Australian Institute of Architects Award for residential architecture.

Historic Hamilton Hill home Cremorne sells

“I believe it will exceed the latest highest sale in Queensland of $25 million,” the Sotheby’s International Realty Ascot agent Stephen Weber told The Australian.
Dr Soo Hian Beh and her estranged husband the Malaysian Chinese industrialist Sir Yii Ann Hii, who is in dispute with the Australian Taxation Office over a $64 million tax bill, bought the Dickson Terrace mansion for $6.5 million in 2001.
Only Soo Hian Beh’s name remains on the title.
They got around town in a with 1VIP numberplates on their 2005 Rolls Royce Phantom.
Bromley was built in 1988 into a 2759 sqm parcel with views across the Brisbane River and the CBD.
The grounds include a large pool, cabana, floodlit tennis court, ponds and fountains.
An eight-person lift services three floors including a self-contained housekeeper’s quarters at the Dickson Terrace property.
“This is very much Queensland’s trophy home and Sotheby’s is looking for a visionary, like Christopher Skase who, let’s face it, built some amazing developments in the late ‘80s, to update it and bring it to its former grandeur,” Weber said.
“To replace this property would be cost prohibitive,” Weber told The Australian.
Skase and his wife Pixie quit Australia for Majorca in 1991.

Sotheby's seeking a Christopher Skase-like visionary for Hamilton Hill property offering

Cremorne, the historic Hamilton Hill home of Fone Zone co-founder David McMahon and wife Tracey failed to sell at its re-arranged auction last week despite the best effort of the agents.
The auction had been brought forward to midday from its scheduled 6.30pm by Place Bulimba agent Sarah Hackett due to the looming aftermath effects of cyclone Debbie hitting the east coast.
Built in the early 1900's by Brisbane publican James O'Connor, the McMahon's were only the third owners of the award winning property with sweeping views of the Brisbane River.
According to the Queensland Heritage register, Cremorne is the only example of the domestic work of renowned Queensland architects Eaton &amp; Bates.
They paid $6,625,000 for the five bedroom home in late 2015.
Four art pieces that have been original to the house were painted in 1899.
The home receieved a heritage-approved pavilion extension by Donovan Hill Architects - now BVN Donovan Hill, in consultation with heritage specialist architect Robert Riddel.
David retired from Fone Zone in 2013, having co-founded the company, now Vita Group in 1995. It is now valued at over $750 million.
David sold the former Ascot home he shared with ex wife Maxine Horne for $8,615,000 to Domino's Pizza head Don Meij last year.

A Hamilton Hill home sold for $5,385,000 at its recent auction, $1,265,000 over its reserve.
Built in 2011, the imposing five bedroom, five bathroom home on 607 sqm is set against a backdrop of panoramic river views and the city skyline.
The <a href="https://www.raywhite.com/qld/hamilton/1556823/?lang=en" target="_blank">four level home </a>with lift access to all levels features a number of private terraces, a self-contained guest wing, home theatre, swimming pool and rooftop terrace.
The home came with a reserve price of $4.1 million through Ray White Ascot agent Damon Warat.
It last traded for $2 million in 2008, before the house was built.
