Bonnie Doon, Gold Coast’s last family-owned dairy farm in Numinbah Valley, has been listed after more than 110 years in the Yaun family.
They have reluctantly decided to sell their five generation farm as they no longer make a living off the land following the deregulation of the dairy industry in 2000.
It was in 2007 when they ceased dairy farming.
It has Lamington National Park on one side and Springbrook National Park on the other.
It has been listed by Ray White Rural Queensland agent Rob Wildermuth, who is marketing the property with Peter Douglas.
Situated at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-livestock-qld-numinbah+valley-700039442" target="_blank">2325 Nerang Murwillumbah Road</a>, the majority of the property is cleared improved pastures of Kikuyu, Rhodes and clovers. 
At the western edge the 172 hectare holding, the property has around 40 hectares of rainforest.
Located a short drive and school bus to the Gold Coast Private and Public schools at the gate.
Numinbah also has a primary school which is within walking distance.
Instead of dairy cows, Angus and Charolais cows now feed on the improved pastures. 
The home is set to go under the auctioneer's hammer August 2.

The Bonnie Doon house made famous in The Castle is now up for rent on Airbnb.
It comes as the other home from the 1997 film <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/news/73416-councils-consider-the-castle-for-tourist-attraction" target="_blank">prepares to go under the hammer </a>in Strathmore on Wednesday afternoon
Mel bought the Bonnie Doon abode two years ago from a Sydney investor who had also rented it out.
She has spent about a year fixing it up before now offering it as a <a href="https://www.propertyobserver.com.au/https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/5389205" target="_blank">short-term holiday rental</a> at $200 a night, plus cleaning costs.
“You’re not dreaming,” the Airbnb listing reads. “The serenity is real.”
To offer guests the true Castle experience, Mel has collected items that she thought Darryl and Steve Kerrigan would have found in the Trading Post.
She even built a “pool room” out back to house extra guests. 
“I just love telling people when I buy things that they’ll be going straight to the pool room,” she told The Herald Sun. 
The house has been styled with a retro theme.
