<p>One of Australia’s oldest real estate groups has seen the appointment of a new leadership group.</p>

<p>Mark Earle, the director of Buxton Sandringham takes the position of chairman of the board and will work alongside Chris Hassall, director of Buxton Bentleigh to run the informal training for the group.</p>
<p>At the helm of the group is Buxton’s chief executive officer, Nathan Jones, who is responsible for overseeing 400 staff members across 20 Buxton offices. </p>
<p>Formerly with NAB and Macquarie Bank, Jones joined Buxton in 2012, before taking over the role of CEO in 2015.</p>
<p>Nigel O’Neil, a chartered accountant and former CEO of Hockingstuart, joined as an executive director in late 2016.</p>
<p>Along with Mark Earle, Chris Hassall, Ben Riddle, David Hart and Craig Williamson, the new leadership group has plans to turn one of the oldest real estate brands into the most progressive real estate business in Australia.</p>
<p>“Our focus is on continually developing culture, leadership and technology, whilst not forgetting the foundation of personal relationships and how connected that is to our customer experience,” Jones said.</p>
<p>The leadership group at Buxton is now heavily concentrated to those in their 30s and 40s, something that is quite rare in traditional real estate circles.</p>
<p>“We’re at a point of making a pretty heavy digital transformation within our business, which at its core has been driven by enhancing the customer experience.</p>
<p>“Those transacting the heaviest in real estate are Gen Y and Millennials, as either buyers or tenants, and their transition to the role of vendor or landlord is evolving..</p>

<p>“The Millennial expectation around customer experience has been developing at a rate of knots, with a heavy bias towards self service models such as Uber, Netflix, Gumtree and Airtasker all highlighting the qualities of better, faster and easier.</p>
<p>“The real estate industry is not immune to these changing trends and matching needs to service is what we emphasise in our strategic development of the group.</p>
<p>“At the end of the day, the new leadership team wants to drive great people to great places and have a lot of fun along the way. That’s our culture,” said Jones.</p>

Buxton appoint new leadership group for Melbourne offices

<p>Sydney-based apartment developer Coronation Property has appointed the group’s current development manager Aras Labutis to the newly created role of director for Urban Transformation and Strategy, where he will oversee the direction of the developer’s strategic masterplanned precincts. </p>
<p>The company’s managing director, Joseph Nahas, said the newly created role would ensure the best strategies were in place for Coronation’s projects.</p>
<p>Its current list of developments include The Paper Mill in Liverpool, 8 Phillip Street in Parramatta and a recently acquired site on Church Street in Parramatta that will be its second high-rise mixed use development in the Parramatta CBD and another yet to be announced project in Harris Park. </p>
<p>Labutis was previously a director at leading planning firm Mecone and has worked on some of Sydney’s most complex urban renewal projects.</p>
<p>The role will see Labutis working closely with all levels of government to develop the best communities that the booming cities of Liverpool and Parramatta as well as the Georges River Growth Corridor will require into the future. </p>

<p>Nahas said Labutis was an easy choice for the position due to this outstanding knowledge of planning, his passion for the development industry and his experience across residential, commercial and mixed use projects.</p>
<p>“Liverpool – where we are developing The Paper Mill - was recently named the best value postcode in the country by financial consulting website Mozo, which crunched the numbers on every suburb in Australia for the best buys under $600,000 that are set to increase in value in the near future,” Nahas said. </p>
<p>“On the same token, affordability and good capital growth estimates are predicted for each of the strategic areas in which we are developing apartments, so we feel we are well positioned to offer buyers – both investors and first home buyers, the very best for their apartments.” </p>

Developer Coronation appoints Aras Labutis to shape project strategy

<p>The Governor, Philip Lowe, has announced that Christopher Kent, currently Assistant Governor (Economic), has been appointed to the position of Assistant Governor (Financial Markets), the role previously held by Guy Debelle prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor.</p>
<p>The Governor also announced that Michele Bullock, currently Assistant Governor (Business Services), has been appointed to the position of Assistant Governor (Financial System), which will be vacated by Malcolm Edey following his decision to retire at the end of October.</p>
<p>As part of her new role, Ms Bullock will be appointed as Deputy Chair of the Payments System Board, succeeding Dr Edey.</p>
<p>The retirement of Dr Edey from the Bank came after almost 40 years of service, the Governor said.</p>
