The streamlined Tower One at Queens Place is now completed, marking the steadfast progress of what is set to become the tallest twin tower development&nbsp;in Australia. The $235m project has been designed by both&nbsp;Fender Katsalidis and Cox Architecture, and a competition-winning design scheme for developer 3L Alliance.

Located near the Queen Victoria Market precinct and Flagstaff Garden, Tower One at Queens Place delivers an urban-scale residential building responding to the site&rsquo;s conditions and to a multitude of the residents&rsquo; needs.

&ldquo;With a rich cultural history right at the foot of the site, the compelling and streamlined design of Queens Place will activate and connect this vibrant new precinct, and complement Melbourne&rsquo;s evolving skyline&rdquo; says Fender Katsalidis director, James Pearce.

&ldquo;The striking towers and podium have the potential to greatly enrich the liveability of Melbourne&rsquo;s CBD by providing residents with a considered masterplan design that places an emphasis on connection to this iconic pocket of the city,&rdquo; he added.

Cox&nbsp;Architecture director Pete Sullivan said that with the understanding that the Queen Victoria Market precinct was set to change, they wanted to generate a design that complements the broader streetscape.

&ldquo;The five-level podium is conceived as a &lsquo;mini-town,&rsquo; with a bustling series of arcades and lanes activated through a mixed-use program,&quot; Sullivan said.

&quot;The podium&rsquo;s design ascends the streamlined tower form with an unembellished fa&ccedil;ade, shaped and sculpted by contextual drivers within and around the unique site.&rdquo;

Responding to the site&rsquo;s exposure to north-westerly winds, the 80-storey Tower One, with its silver curtain wall glazing, has been rounded to capture and reflect light and views into each residential apartment.

The tower is complete with quality amenities and spaces designed to offer residents the potential to optimise their way of living, working and play. Resident socialisation is promoted through communal amenities such as the pool and spa, games rooms, karaoke suite, cinema, library, poker, and mah-jong room.

Breaking up the progression of dwellings, a high-rise lobby at level 51 offers further amenity, including a swimming pool, karaoke, and dining space. Beyond that are the high-rise apartments occupying level 53 to 68.

Through-site connections and unobstructed solar access under the mixed-use podium provide pedestrians with practical accessibility to the surrounds and encourages circulation through the block.

For visitors to the area, the publicly accessible plaza is also emboldened as a space for gathering or as sheltered resting spots.

The multi-level podium enriches the ground plane with new linkages and an enhanced public realm within the Queen Victoria Market precinct.

Intended for a variety of uses, the five-level podium includes retail tenancies, commercial suites, and a childcare centre. The podium and tower form are expressed through contrasting yet complementary materials.

In distinction to the sleek silver tower, the detailed podium is armoured with curvaceous fins and an external terrace interwoven with planters, with the earthy tones and exposed stonework creating&nbsp;a distinctly Melbourne ground-level experience.

Australia's tallest twin towers set to bridge fringes of Melbourne CBD

Melbourne's brand new $1 billion dual tower project, known as Queens Place, has recently completed the construction of its first tower.

We were invited to take an exclusive tour of the apartments and luxury amenities, take a look at our apartment tour video:&nbsp;

The development's design was a collaboration by leading design firms Fender Katsalidis Architects and Cox Architecture.&nbsp;

A design feature I found particularly interesting is that as each tower rises, they veer away from each other, creating visual asymmetry and maximising views for residents on upper levels.&nbsp;

On the ground floor, you're welcomed into the most stunning lobby, complete with an incredible light installation.&nbsp;

As soon as you step foot in your apartment, you're met with this incredible view of the city skyline through the floor-to-ceiling glazing. It's a view you would never tire of and one of the most rewarding features of apartment living.&nbsp;

The flow is open plan and feels light and spacious. Little details like the wide panel timber flooring make the room feel even larger, and depending on whether you opt for a single wall kitchen or a galley configuration, there is plenty of room for dining to be separate from the living area.

The kitchens feature integrated rangehoods and Miele gas cooktops with timeless timber joinery. You'll also notice that these wall sconce lights are a unique feature piece and are also found in the bathrooms.

All bathrooms and ensuites are fully tiled and include freestanding timber vanities, deep square basins and modern tapware. Many apartments also have wall-spanning walk-in showers.&nbsp;

The bedrooms also offer great views of the city, with expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing. Soft grey carpet makes the room feel cosy, while the full height mirrored wardrobes create a feeling of spaciousness.

All residents will have access to the extensive 3-level amenities, including a 25m swimming pool with a thriving green wall, a fully equipped gymnasium, a karaoke room and a dining room complete with its own wine cellar, as well as a library and games room for billiards, card games and mahjong.

Residents in the tower's High Rise, Queens Residences and Queens Terrace apartments will have access to several more amenities on levels 52 and 53.

Whether you're running on the treadmill, relaxing in the steam room, or enjoying a drink in the lounge, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city.

The swimming pool is surrounded by grey marbled tiles, the private 10-person dining area features a statement stone table, and the elegant lounge spaces include multiple fireplaces. One of my favourite spots is this relaxation area; it's absolutely flooded with light through the opulent double-height void.

Developer 3L Alliance&#39;s recently completed $1 billion twin-tower development, Queens Place, takes centre stage as one of&nbsp;Melbourne&#39;s tallest residential developments.

The glass-swathed, 80-storey towers have been collaboratively designed by renowned architecture firms&nbsp;Fender Katsalidis and COX Architecture, with interiors by Hecker Guthrie.

The towers share the first five levels, a podium which homes the joint residential amenity including a&nbsp;pool, private dining rooms, multiple games rooms including Mahjong and poker, a karaoke suite&nbsp;and a private resident&rsquo;s concierge, as well as business centre.

The apartments from level 53 and up are dubbed High Rise apartments, and offer realised spaces with greater emphasis on style, comfort and luxury including Miele appliances, feature wall lighting, concealed heating and cooling with individual wall controllers and more. Levels 69-78 home the tower&#39;s penthouses and sub-penthouses, known as Queens Residences.

Both High Rise and Queens Residence residents enjoy their own exclusive amenities on levels 51 and 52.

They&#39;ll have access to their own swimming pool, with sauna and steam rooms. Also just for High Rise and Queens Residence buyers is a private bar and lounge, and a bookable dining room, complete with a commercial-size kitchen.

Prices for High Rise apartments start from just $497,000, one of the best luxury offerings currently on the Melbourne market.
