Weightlifting gold medallist Dean Lukin sells Mermaid Beach holiday home

The Mermaid Beach holiday home of Australian weightlifting legend Dean Lukin has snappily sold for $6,395,000 to a local buyer.

The Adelaide-based Lukin, whose paid $4.8 million for the property in 2013 with brother David and mum Ann, were asking for $6,495,000.

It was bought shortly after the death of family patriarch, the millionaire Port Adelaide fishing entrepreneur fishing entrepreneur.

Known locally as "the yellow house on the corner", the Hamptons-style home has three bedrooms and four bathrooms across its three levels.

The lounge with a sandstone clad fireplace opens to an alfresco deck with a sunken jacuzzi.

Kollosche Broadbeach agent Eddie Wardale sold the home.

The two week sale is a rarity on Hedges Avenue despite it being one of the most sought after addresses on the Gold Coast.

A five bedroom beachfront down the road has been on the market since 2016. It was once owned by the late former AFL player Rod Galt.
