Developer Golden Sedayu has launched its own construction arm to deliver its landmark $3.8 billion masterplan, Burswood Point.

Golden Sedayu Construction will soon commence works on the first stage of the new precinct development, which includes the construction of the first two apartment towers: Somerset East and Somerset West. The newly assembled construction team involves key personnel who have previously worked on landmark projects such as The Ritz Carlton and The Towers at Elizabeth Quay.

"This strategic move ensures greater control over project timelines, quality assurance, and seamless coordination," Golden Sedayu Managing Director, Andrew Sugiaputra, said.

More than $200 million in site works have been completed already, including access roads, water works, sewer infrastructure, bulk earthworks, and a new bridge connecting Victoria Park Drive to the precinct.

Construction of the two towers, which will home 203 apartments, will begin in May. Completion is slated for Q4 2027.

60 per cent of the apartments in Somerset West have been snapped up. Somerset East will launch in the coming months.

Situated on a 38-hectare site along the Swan River, Burswood Point is set to become one of Western Australia’s most significant urban renewal projects.

The development will eventually bring 4,500 homes, hotels, retail and dining options, and extensive public open spaces to the area, with over 110,000 sqm of parklands and a 2.5-kilometre foreshore.

Designed by DKO Architecture, the Somerset towers will feature tiered balconies with greenery, enhancing their visual appeal and complementing the surrounding landscape.

Residents will have access to a range of amenities, including a 20-metre infinity pool with views of the Swan River, a gym, wellness spaces, and a rooftop observation deck with BBQ facilities overlooking Optus Stadium and Matagarup Bridge.

Golden Sedayu, a partnership between Perth’s Golden Group and Indonesian property developer Agung Sedayu, has positioned Burswood Point as a future lifestyle and entertainment hub, just 3.5 kilometres from the Perth CBD.

The two towers are expected , with additional towers and precincts to be developed in subsequent stages.
