The Americana dream house in Garfield, 70 kilometres south-east of Melbourne, was listed for sale by a vendor with a passion for all things Americana.
He built the house at 440 Fourteen Mile Road, which is ideal for horse owners, on top of a barn in classic American style.
Upstairs is a four-bedroom residence with timber floorboards, dark-tiled bathroom and a large kitchen for large American meals.
LJ Hooker agent Graeme Dimsey had been expecting to sell the property for $1.3 million on its initial listing. The price is curently undisclosed.
In January it was listed for rent at $600 per week, according to RP Data.
Much of the wood used on the property is reclaimed timber from a jetty in Queenscliff.
