The ongoing surge in home financing and purchasing as well as the rebound in home prices is being driven by a combination of record low mortgage rates, home buyer incentives and economic recovery.

This trend has been led by the enormous surge in first home buyer lending which soared to record highs due primarily to incentives like the HomeBuilder Grant and other FHB stimuli like stamp duty discounts.

Urban has taken a look at which suburbs have been the most popular among first home buyers in Q1 2021.

1. Footscray
