When you step foot in Hampton it’s hard to believe you’re still in metropolitan Melbourne. Long a retreat for wealthy city dwellers looking to bathe or picnic by the sea, the unassuming suburb has pivoted from holiday destination to a prized urban postcode. And despite being located just 14-kilometres from the CBD, Hampton feels like it’s a world away from the confines of the concrete jungle.

On the radar to join the ranks of residences lining the streets of Hampton - and exclusively listed on Urban - comes 37 Prince Street, a new Bayside townhouse development targeting the family owner-occupier.

37 Prince Street is home to only four townhouses, each enjoying the all important family feature of private double garages and secure entrances, which Noorden Property Director David Lamond says is a very unusual proposition.

“37 Prince St presents as a great opportunity for someone to secure a property in Hampton for under $2 million, while still giving you plenty of space for the family along with a north-facing backyard,” Lamond said.

Further adding to the drawcard for family-occupiers Lamond says is the Bayside development’s proximity to some of the city’s most prestigious educational offerings.

“The site is very close to the best private schools that Bayside has to offer, with Haileybury and St Leonards, all the way through to Hampton Primary School.”

Each townhouse spans nearly 200 sqm of internal living area across three levels, as well as a front and backyard.

The ground floor will house the open plan living, kitchen and dining space, along with an ensuited bedroom and a powder room, while the additional two bedrooms will be included across the first floor, along with a second living space and a bathroom.

Townhouses one, two and three will also include first floor master-bedrooms suites where townhouse four is designed with a ground level master.

With the developers having successfully completed a number of large building projects throughout Melbourne since 1996, including Willow at 60 Islington Street Collingwood, Lamond suggests the level of fixtures and finishes are beyond what you would expect in the area.

Internally, the townhouses will feature gas fireplaces, along with the latest QASAIR and Miele appliances in the kitchens, which are completed with an integrated fridge and freezer.

Buyers are now able secure a townhouse with huge stamp duty savings, with construction scheduled to begin in February next year.
