Southbank, the cultural heart of Melbourne, is getting a facelift from the Victorian state government, with plans to invest $470 million into redeveloping the art district.

ARA Australia are undertaking the government-funded project, with the purpose of enhancing amenities and experiences for locals, with a wider plan of attracting more visitors to the area. There will be new bars, office spaces and restaurants across a five-story podium.

The continued development of the Southbank area has apartment developers seeking to create towers for the expected high demand of buyers. The highly anticipated STH Bnk by Beulah is expected to launch in 2022, which will see around 449 apartments created in the $2.7 billion mixed-use development.
