Record setting Toorak penthouse resells for close to $15 million

The Melbourne businessman Christopher Shao has secured the recent sale of his luxury penthouse in Toorak’s 29 Washington Street complex. It was reportedly sold for close to $15 million through Kay & Burton. It was initially sold for $14 million in 2019. Developed in 2018, the whole floor three bedroom apartment was designed by architect Stephen Jolson. It came with initial $20 million hopes by the boutique developers Orchard Piper who had celebrity US agents the Altman Brothers lending their name to the marketing. The 1000 square metre space boasts pool, yoga room, sauna, and 1300-bottle wine cellar. One of six residences in the development, its occupies the entire third floor. It comes with private four car garaging and its own lift. On its initial sale the apartment almost doubled the prior $8.2 million record.
