Mirvac has thrown its support behind The Salvation Army Australia’s signature fundraising drive, The Red Shield Appeal, with the creation of Transformation House.

Located at Mirvac’s Smiths Lane masterplanned community in Clyde North, the brand new home will be auctioned in November 2022, with a $500,000 fundraising target for the Red Shield Appeal.

Currently under construction, the design of the home was unveiled at the end of June, with The Salvation Army Australia’s Michael Wright (Major) Corps Officer, explaining that funds raised from the sale of Transformation House will create an ongoing legacy, helping the charity reach countless individuals and transform lives for years to come.

“Housing stress has been rapidly increasing across Australia. Right now, for every person you can see who is homeless there are 13 more that you can’t see.”

The funds raised through the sale of this house means that Mirvac, and the new homeowners, are playing a critical role in enabling The Salvation Army to address these issues by ensuring we continue to provide crisis, transitional and long-term accommodation, refuges for women and their children, rooming houses and community housing,” he said. .

Mirvac’s Head of Residential, Stuart Penklis, said that the Transformation House demonstrates Mirvac’s commitment to reimagining urban life and building sustainable communities for the future.

“From the way we design and manage our assets, to the communities we create and the homes and neighbourhoods in which our customers live, being environmentally and socially responsible is firmly embedded in our DNA.

Designed by the award-winning Mirvac Design team, currently under construction home has taken its design inspiration from the curves of the local Cardinia Creek.

The two-storey 320 sqm home will feature unique architecture, with flexible living spaces, along with innovative technology and a resort-style backyard, complete with a plunge pool.

With four-bedrooms and two-bathrooms, the home incorporates two living rooms, a butler’s pantry and SMEG kitchen appliances, with the master bedroom featuring a luxurious walk in robe and ensuite.

An upstairs breakout area, mud room and study nook complete the family-style home, with the one-of-a-kind fully electric home also seeking to achieve a 7-Star NatHERS rating, incorporating ‘future-ready’ sustainable design principles and leading technologies to minimise energy consumption and maximise liveability for its future residents.

Situated on a 392 square metre block in prime position within the Smiths Lane community, Transformation House is just a short walk from the newly opened Clyde Grammar and Banjo Park, Smith’s Lane’s first neighbourhood park.

Over 60 hectares of the Smiths Lane masterplan is dedicated to green space, including sporting facilities, local parks, walking tracks, bike trails and more.

With over 300 residents already living at Smiths Lane, it will include over 3,000 homes once complete, along with a proposed future town centre with supermarket, speciality stores, restaurants, government school, childcare and adult educational facilities.

Transformation House is expected to be complete and auctioned in Spring 2022, while a selection of three, four and five-bedroom home options can still be snapped up within the master planned community.
