A beachfront first floor apartment at Aspendale was the top selling apartment across Melbourne at auction last weekend.
The Seacombe offering at 4/7 Kara Grove fetched $2,525,000.
It sat among the 66 percent apartment auction success rate from the 345 Melbourne listings, according to CoreLogic.
This weekend is a different matter given the seven day COVID 19 lockdown with CoreLogic calculating it had been set to be Melbourne's second biggest auction week so far this year.
Some auctions will go online, but many will be postponed until June or go private treaty.
Hidden from the foreshore behind banksia and ti-tree in the sand dunes, the three bedroom, two bathroom Aspendale apartment came with 21m beach frontage.
The marketing by Belle Mentone agent Garry Donovan suggested it was "arguably the best Aspendale has to offer."
The price guide had been $2.3m to $2.5m.
It is one of four in the architect designed Lowe Living-built complex, with raked ceilings soaring to 4 metres,
There were walls of double glazed glass.
The apartment had lift access. There was secure double garaging plus a storage shed.
It has been a $1400 a week rental offering last September, having first been on offer at $1150 in 2013.
The Melbourne-based developer Lowe Living are finishing construction of their latest luxury bayside development Azura Aspendale.
The Foster Street townhouse and apartment development was launched in March last year, and within six months some 26 of the 27 residences had sold.
