That feeling of walking through the front door and into a beautiful lobby is an exciting prospect for many homebuyers who understand the importance of first impressions.

Not only must residents be welcomed by the space, but an apartment entrance is effectively the first impression family and friends will make of your home.

“Today’s lobbies are true ‘great-room’ environments”, Barbara Best-Santos, the associate principal of the multi-residential design firm, ForrestPerkins, said.

For this reason, many homebuyers and investors are starting to consider luxe lobbies before committing to purchasing their new apartment.

Urban takes a look at six Melbourne apartments that boast lobbies sure to leave a great impression.

1. Seafarers, Docklands
Developer: Riverlee

Delivered by Riverlee, Seafarers will transform the city’s last remaining Yarra River frontage into a new visionary waterfront precinct.

Centred on an inspired reimagining of the heritage-protected Goods Shed 5, the Nonda Katsalidis-designed residence will feature Melbourne’s first international hotel-branded residences – 1 Hotel & Homes, above Australia’s first 1 Hotel.

This means residents will enjoy a 24-hour concierge, valet parking and a grand entrance lobby that assures guests are wowed upon entry.

2. Melbourne Square, Southbank
Developer: OSK Property

Melbourne Square is the latest development from OSK Property, boasting 1,054 apartments in a range of configurations.

The Southbank development boasts both public and private amenities, thoughtfully considered to give residents a multitude of relaxation, work and entertainment zones.

Among these facilities includes a sumptuous lobby with concierge services, designed by Cox Architecture, in addition to a sun terrace, yoga studio, gym, theatre and dining rooms.

3. Spring Street, Box Hill
Developer: Orion International Group

Set over 29 levels, Spring Street is a new Melbourne development situated in the heart of Box Hill.

Delivered by Sekisui House, the tower is set to include 312 one, two and three-bedroom apartments, a communal terrace, rooftop garden, private dining zone, outdoor kitchen and entertaining zone.

Discerning buyers will be impressed by the property’s expansive lobby area, with function rooms and concierge, designed by Elenberg Fraser.

4. FOCUS Melbourne, Southbank
Developer: Central Equity

Comprising 592 one, two and three-bedroom apartments spread across 50 levels, FOCUS Melbourne is a brand-new development by Central Equity.

Designed by Doig Architecture, FOCUS features retail tenancies at the ground level, commercial offices with their own lobby and a resident’s lobby with a 24/7 concierge and stylish lounge.

The glazed high-rise features a contemporary facade of strong rectilinear geometry, clear and bronze glass, and the retention of a heritage façade along the streetscape.

5. St Boulevard, Melbourne
Developer: The Shakespeare Group

Designed by Elenberg Fraser, St Boulevard will include three 20 and nine-floor towers comprising 435 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

Each Melbourne residence, developed by The Shakespeare Group, feature long wrap-around balconies and communal amenities designed to bring neighbours together.

These features such as a private cinema, a games lounge and children’s play area, modern living, and luxe lobby.

6. Prospect Apartments, Box Hill
Developer: R&F Property

Prospect presents a new residential landmark that delivers absolute convenience in all forms, including the communal facilities integrated into the project.

The Hayball Architects-designed development features an inviting, hotel-style porte-cochère on entry, giving way to the tower’s apartments and amenities.

R&F Property has paired these convenient amenities with a building concierge that provides a scope of services, from house cleaning and couriering to transportation arrangements and the coordination of events.
