Piper Townhomes is the latest release in AVJenning's Waterline Place masterplan in the Melbourne bayside suburb of Williamstown.

Located on Nelson Place, Piper comprises just 14 townhomes and terraces.

Set for completion in mid-2022, it is just one part of the 500 residences planned for Waterline Place.

Urban picked out 5 things we love about Piper:

1. Developed, and designed by AVJennings

AVJennings is a leading residential property development company that has been part of the Australian landscape for more than 85 years.

With over 12,700 lots in its portfolio, the company has experience in home building, land development, pre-planned integrated housing and medium density activities.

Other projects by AVJennings include Parkside, a townhouse project in Queensland’s Bethania.

2. Designed for young families and rightsizers

The three-bedroom townhouses have been designed with young families and rightsizers in mind, with extensive storage spaces, larger full-height windows, and a living area that opens out to a room-sized balcony.

Piper Townhomes are low-maintenance and family-ready homes with flexible spaces and covered outdoor areas for alfresco entertaining.

Across the expansive living areas, bedrooms and bathrooms, the contemporary homes are bright, and bathed in natural light. The warm hues and textures are accented by crisp finishes like reconstituted stone bench tops and Smeg appliances in the kitchen.

Piper have a bluestone and angled roofline theme that mimics traditional local cottages and industrial buildings of the past, to blend in with the established architectural character of the area.

3. Different designs and themes on offer across the townhomes and terraces

While the three-bedroom townhouses have been designed with with extensive storage spaces, larger full-height windows, and a living area that opens out to a room-sized balcony.

The smaller mid-row terraces feature vertical zoning and a planned layout which allows for natural light.

Four of the five townhomes sit on a smaller 125 sqm plot, with number 5 offering 184 sqm of space, similar to the nine terraces.

They offer two different colour schemes, Smoke, with a focus on darker brushed colours and Blonde, a lighter theme.

4. Location Location Location

Located within Hobson Bay, the area offers cafes, restaurants, supermarket, shops, swimming beaches and renowned boating clubs.

Residents are also close to Williamstown, Williamstown Beach and Newport train stations and 9km away from the city.

Take a tour of the area and discover the walking trails of Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park or catch the cricket at the Williamstown Cricket Ground near Seaview Williamstown a breezy location for seaside events.

5. One part of a masterplan that pays heritage to the suburbs Maritime history

The development references Williamstown’s well-known local personality Richard Piper, the postmaster of the Williamstown Post Office during the mid-nineteenth century.

It is across the road from  Gem Pier where residents can get a closer look at the HMAS Castlemaine, a ship museum indicative of Williamstown's tight naval connections.
