Only 10 kilometres from the heart of the city, Ivanhoe is one of Melbourne’s most historically rich neighbourhoods.

Recognised as an area with great vitality and landscape appeal, Ivanhoe is bordered by Darebin Creek to the west and the Yarra River to the south, and offers a unique village lifestyle surrounded by parks, walking paths and golf courses – making it a walker’s paradise.

The unique charm and potential of Ivanhoe was what attracted developers Salter Brothers, who have taken to the unique location in the heart of Ivanhoe village to deliver their latest residential project, Candela Apartments.

The investment group’s impressive portfolio comprises luxury residences, hotels and restaurants in some of Australia’s most desirable locations.

Salter Brothers engaged John Demos Architects to design the 62 apartments for his deep architectural experience and knowledge of the uniquely shaped site with uninterrupted views across to the Melbourne skyline and Dandenong Ranges.  John Demos Architects was founded in Melbourne in 1984 by Demos himself.

Collaborating with his sister, interior designer Kathy Demos, Candela Apartments delivers a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom apartments plus penthouses. In addition, there are three double storey family- sized loft apartments, comprising four bedrooms with a second upstairs living zone, dedicated study area, laundry chute and an opulent master bedroom suite.

Rather than existing as one form, the building has been separated into a series of curved forms. The design allows for points of transition from one form to the next, while also creating a sense of space and privacy between the residences.

Distinguished by a glass facade, the layered materiality of the Candela Apartments, coupled with the structural design, interacts with natural light, inviting an abundance into each of the homes.

The apartments are considered as a retreat for rest and rejuvenation. Generously sized and designed with options to suit all purchasers whether they be downsizers, first home buyers, couples or families without compromising on amenity, location or quality.

Internally, apartments include an over-sized living areas and bedrooms, complemented by stone bench tops throughout, wool carpets in the bedrooms, Miele kitchen appliances and an integrated refrigerator.

Each of the apartments also features excellent natural light and views, whilst the penthouses enjoy large terraces with top floor panoramic views.

Benefiting from the height and orientation of the building, residents will enjoy unrivalled views from the city skyline or the Dandenong Ranges.

With the city only 20 minutes away by car or train, the development presents the opportunity to live in one of Melbourne’s most rewarding and connected locations. Stroll two minutes up the road for a morning coffee, grocery shopping, gourmet dining, all services and more, with the village conveniences delivering the ultimate inner-urban lifestyle.
