DealCorp complete $30 million McKinnon apartment project, MCKN
Private developer DealCorp has completed its $30 million apartment project, MCKN, in the Bayside suburb of McKinnon.
DealCorp’s Executive Chairman, David Kobritz, says MCKN is the highest quality apartment building to be constructed in the area and buyers have appreciated this aspect.
“McKinnon is an incredibly sought after suburb, so we are pleased to be able to deliver much-needed quality apartments at an accessible price point for young families wanting to get into the area.
“With limited apartment stock in McKinnon and no other comparable local projects, MCKN provides a unique point of difference for home hunters looking to move to Melbourne’s south-east."
Designed by revered and distinctive design practice, RITZ&GHOUGASSIAN, MCKN has appealed largely to families wanting to live within the coveted McKinnon Secondary College zone, with the school consistently appearing amongst Victoria’s top performers.
Projects by Buxton director, Heath Thompson, who is managing sales at MCKN added,
“In a time of financial uncertainty, the drawcard of a really strong public school has been a huge pull for buyers who may consider that private schooling is now out of their reach.”
“Now that buyers are able to touch and feel the product, experience the excellent location and with the ground level café and providore set to open shortly, I’m certain the remaining three apartments will not be on the market for long,” he said.
The building’s façade is a bold, textured surface of fluted concrete panels, which guide flourishing plants and young shoots up the exterior.
Inside, natural light streams through floor-to-ceiling windows across natural stone surfaces and platinum-toned fixtures, with each of the residences fitted out with first class Smeg appliances.
At the base of the building, residents will be treated to coffee and eats by the café duo behind Thornbury’s Prior, in what will become their first south-side operation which is set to open in March.
The five-level apartment building is made up of 41 two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses.
In 2020, DealCorp made a last-minute change to the fourth floor of the project, allowing for additional penthouse residences, to meet the needs of growing demand for larger bayside apartments, as a result of Covid-19.
“We couldn’t be happier with how the project has come together and we’re sure our residents will enjoy living there and love becoming part of the McKinnon community,” Kobritz said.
