Builder appointed to construct Essendon's The Watson by Kincrest
One of Melbourne's trendiest suburbs is a step closer to welcoming a new residential building.
Construction works are set to commence in the coming months on The Watson by Kincrest, who have appointed their long-time preferred construction partner to build the project.
The Ned Ireland and Nigel Brown-led Ireland Brown Constructions will handle the build of the 37 apartments and townhouses, where prices start from $795,000 for a two-bed townhouse. The two-bedroom apartments are priced from $845,000, while the three-bedders start at $1.2 million.
Kincrest have sought the work of Ireland Brown for all their developments, with The Watson marking the third collaboration between the pair.
Kincrest has already sold around $20 million worth of apartments, with all the buyers so far owner-occupiers, a mix of downsizers and first home buyers.
Tom Howgate, Kincrest Director and Owner, says buyers have responded well to the large apartments, which have been purposefully designed to offer more living space than any competitor in surrounding suburbs. The average apartment in The Watson spans over 120 sqm, almost double the standard 65 sqm elsewhere.
The site at 1 Thorn Street is still occupied, with construction works set to kick off in the third quarter of the year.
Renowned architecture firm Rothelowman has designed the project, with Melbourne-based studio Telha Clarke handling the interiors.
The open-plan living spaces benefit from floor-to-ceiling windows that invite an abundance of natural light into each of the homes, extending out to spacious balconies which take full advantage of views to the city and the sea.
Each apartment is equipped with high-quality materials and appliances, along with ample storage, LED recessed downlights, ducted heating and cooling, as well as video and intercom surveillance.
