Sustainability, customisation and space were key drawcards for purchasers of Beulah’s Brunswick Established project over the weekend, with downsizers and young professionals collectively snapping up 65 per cent of townhomes during the first day of launch.

The sales success, which equated to $32.5 million worth in sales, made it one of the fastest-selling projects in Brunswick

Comprised of 23 two-storey townhouses, Brunswick Established’s sales success is attributed to the boundary-pushing design that will see it become the first heritage townhome community to implement circular living in Brunswick, in addition to offering flexible homes that can be customised via Beulah’s unique ‘Tailored Living’ initiative.

Beulah Executive Adelene Teh said several purchasers took advantage of the offering and will transform one of the flexi-rooms into an art studio, another will convert theirs into a home office, and another into a home sewing studio.

“In addition to the customisation, a strong emphasis was placed on how ‘future-proofed’ the project was," Teh says.

"Buyers, particularly local owner occupiers, retirees, and interstate buyers who are looking to relocate to Melbourne, were attracted to the design by Six Degrees Architects which not only prioritises sustainability and honours the heritage of the site but integrates with the local fabric of Brunswick.

“We recognise the significance of a home purchase for many individuals and the years to come, so it was important for us to create homes that seamlessly adapt to evolving lifestyles and cater to diverse needs - this allows purchasers to customise their homes to suit the stage of life they are currently in while acknowledging where they are heading.

“We also saw interest from young professionals from the Parkville biomedical precinct who knew and loved the area and wanted a well-designed home that offered more space than an apartment and provided long-term social, economic and environmental benefits. Brunswick is one of Melbourne’s most desirable neighbourhoods and townhomes like these, in an intimate mews-style design, are incredibly rare."

Brunswick Established offers multiple typologies of townhomes to suit different living requirements, allowing residents to grow in place - the majority include ground-floor bedrooms for accessibility while others provide a detached flexible studio room separated by a courtyard.

Sustainable initiatives include being gas and fossil-fuel-free, solar panels for renewable energy, rainwater harvesting, energy-efficient lighting systems and appliances, and EV Charging infrastructure. Residents will also have access to an edible garden and composting facilities to assist in the continual growth of produce.

By taking a circular ecosystem approach, residents of Brunswick Established will reap the benefits socially, economically and environmentally, including lower energy costs and utility bills and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

Designed by leaders in social and sustainable architecture, Six Degrees Director Peter Malatt said it was important to design homes that are built to last.

“These homes have been designed for resident’s well-being, allowing couples and families to ‘grow’ in their own homes while ensuring they meet their needs for generations to come," Malatt said.

"Purchasers usually experience multiple lifestyle stages within one home and we’re looking forward to seeing these unique homes come to life."

Brunswick Established is now 65 per cent sold. Two, three and four-bedroom sustainable heritage townhomes are selling fast from $1.444 million
