Trescowthick family sell Cornwall Park, Toolern Vale stud to landbanker
Melbourne businessman Sir Donald Trescowthick and his wife Norma have sold Cornwall Park in Toolern Vale, north-west of Melbourne, to a local landbanking investor.
The 279-hectare land holding, located on Diggers Rest-Coimadai Road, is tipped to have sold for shy of $4 million with Duncan McIntyre, a Melbourne real estate agent, fronting the purchasing paperwork.
Sir Donald Trescowthick is best remembered for making Harris Scarfe into one of the country's biggest department store groups when he assumed control in the 1970s.
Cornwall Park, which was marketed by CBRE's Tim Bennetts and James Beer, includes a large homestead built in 1897 for grazier J. Black before its late 20th century conversion into a horse stud.
