Astute property investors are recognising the potential of the off-the-plan property market, with its numerous amenities and contemporary interiors at affordable prices.

As free-standing home prices surge and approvals to build new houses reach record highs, homebuyers are unsurprisingly seeking savings on brand-new luxury developments.

For many buyers, a downside to off-the-plan purchases include the long wait for construction but with many projects expected to reach completion before the end of the year, Urban has decided to take a look at ten soon-to-be-completed developments offered in Australia.

1. Castle Residences, Sydney
Developer: United Development Sydney
Estimated Completion: Early 2022

Castle Residences is a new masterful collaboration between United Development Sydney and architects Candelapas Associates and Stud​ioAria.

A luxurious collection of 131 residences in one, two and three-bedroom apartments, the development soars above the 146-year-old heritage-listed Porter House on Castlereagh Street.

Timeless sculptural alcoves and arches bring together historical and contemporary architecture, while interior styling takes inspiration from Manhattan apartments.

Anticipated to reach completion in early 2022, the sought-after project merges five-star luxury hotel services and amenities with high-end apartments.

Australian builders Hutchinson Builders were appointed to construct the 37-storey tower valued at $170 million.

2. Ryrie Home, Geelong
Developer: Franzé Developments
Estimated Completion: Late 2022

A new Geelong development, Geelong Quarter will deliver a landmark Holiday Inn tower, 16 luxury apartments at Ryrie Residences, and a separate 14-storey tower, Ryrie Home in late 2022.

In collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts, Franzé Developments’ new project will become a gateway to the region and deliver the largest new hotel in the region in almost 20 years.

Ryr​ie Home will feature a collection of 109 one, two and three-bedroom apartments that benefit from a Rooftop Residents terrace with BBQ and northern bay views. A private internal dining room on level 14 can also be booked by residents.

Designed by Arch​itectus, it will boast an authoritative and restrained grid façade, pedestrian laneways, commercial, retail, and F&B spaces, as well as hotel and residential lobbies.

The privately-owned Maxcon Constructions has been appointed head contractor for the project with completion due late 2022.

3. Pace of Blackburn, Blackburn
Developer: Pace Development Group
Estimated Completion: Late 2022

Also set to reach completion in late 2022 is Pace Development Group's latest Blackburn offering, Pace of Blackburn.

The newest residential development offered by the integrated end-to-end developer will boast an exclusive collection of 289 one, two and three-bedroom residences.

Set across four distinct buildings on Whiteho​rse Road, the development is welcoming and considered with a seamless glazed façade with vertical fin elements and horizontal banding.

Designed by Ascui and Co. Architects and MDG Landscape Architects, the building boasts a large resort-style pool area, with an 18-metre lap pool and a children's splash pool set in extensive landscaping.

There will be a concierge service, with cold room storage for the safekeeping of groceries.

4. Pearl Main Beach, Main Beach
Developer: Raptis
Estimated Completion: 2022

Rising 30 floors on Main Beach Parade, Pearl is a new collection of 80 two and three-bedroom residences at the northern end of the Gold Coast.

The development is the first foray into the Main Beach market by Raptis, headed by founder Jim Raptis who started the company in Sydney back in the mid 1960s.

Along with the other developments on this list, Pearl is expected to see residents move in this year, with Raptis also taking lead over the project’s construction and marketing.

Pearl offers a striking architectural presence and features high-end amenities throughout the tower, including an exquisite lobby, rooftop pool and easy beach access.

Each residence maximises expansive views with floor-to-ceiling windows, while clean lines and a gentle palette inspire harmony and relaxation.

5. Prospect Apartments, Box Hill
Developer: R&F Property Australia
Estimated Completion: 2022

Prospect Apartments, a new glass-swathed Box Hill apartment project, is the latest residential development from R&F Property Australia.

On track to see residents move in mid-2022, the development topped out on its 25th level on time and on budget in November 2021.

The regarded apartment builder, Hutchinson Builders, was appointed to construct the $157 million mixed-use tower, which incorporates 194 apartments.

Boasting a collection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, residents will have access to street-level retail, a co-working space and a wellness club, comprising a swimming pool and a gym.

Comprising of premium and calm finishes, the Hayball-designed tower includes thoughtful interiors, floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious layouts.

6. Shenton Quarter, Shenton Park
Developer: Iris Residential
Estimated Completion: 2022

Another exciting project that will reach completion this year is Iris Residential’s latest project in the popular community of Shenton Park, with their latest project, Shenton Quarter.

West Australian builders BGC Construction will deliver the 157-residence development that features a mix of architecturally designed loft-style townhouses and one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

Designed by Cameron Chisholm Nicol Architects, each apartment offers an unrivalled way of living within a vibrant, environmentally conscious community.

Shenton Quarter features landscaped gardens, lounge and dining area, fruit orchid, 20-metre heated swimming pool, barbeque deck and children’s play area.

The development boasts as many as 50 unique floorplan layouts, each furnished with Smeg appliances, reconstituted stone benchtops and the choice between three colour schemes.

7. The Grounds, Ivanhoe East
Developer: JWLand Development
Estimated Completion: 2022

Australian property development company JWLand is delivering a new development in Melbourne’s Ivanhoe East.

The Grounds, located on The Boulevard, will comprise an exclusive collection of three apartment buildings, Wilfred, Wamba and The Boulevard, as well as a limited collection of townhomes.

Set to reach completion in September 2022, the integrated developer will construct the Architectus-designed project themselves.

“Integrating all aspects of development, design, construction and sales within our company allows us to provide the outstanding levels of quality and customer care that sets us apart”, JWLand said.

More than half of the precinct will comprise gardens, public spaces, and a central landscaped Village Green.

8. FOCUS Melbourne, Southbank
Developer: Central Equity
Estimated Completion: 2022

Comprising 592 one, two and three-bedroom apartments spread across 50 levels, FOCUS Melbourne is a brand-new development by Central Equity.

Designed by Doig Architecture, the glazed high-rise features strong rectilinear geometry, clear and bronze glass, and the retention of a heritage façade along the streetscape.

Construction, led by leading global construction company Multiplex, will reach completion in 2022.

Apartments will include floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings, entertaining balconies and contemporary styled interiors.

Situated in Southbank, residents will benefit from easy access to cafés, restaurants, and entertainment options, with the Melbourne CBD within walking distance.

9. Amara City Gardens, Booragoon
Developer: Iris Residential
Estimated Completion: Mid-2022

Integrated with high-end retail, Amara City Gardens is the only private residences situated within the Garden City Perth precinct.

Upon completion in mid-2022, the project will home 124 one, two and three-bedroom apartments in the established suburb of Booragoon.

West Australian builders BGC Construction have been appointed to construct the Iris Residential development.

Designed by Cameron Chisholm Nicol, each apartment features open-plan living, mirrored robes and the choice between three contemporary colour schemes.

The project captures buyers’ increased interest in its generous resident amenity, quality architecture and great location, thanks to the neighbourhood’s convenient mix of parks, reserves and commercial offerings.

10. Verre, Preston
Developer: Wolf&Lamb
Estimated Completion: Early 2022

Located in Melbourne’s Preston, Verre is the latest offering from the developer Wolf&Lamb.

The Chamberlain Architects-designed residences are an entertainers’ delight. Large balconies connect the living room to the outdoors and a rooftop terrace offers a space to host friends or relax against the Melbourne city skyline.

Situated in the heart of Preston, Verre which holds sweeping cityscape views is set for completion in early 2022, with HGW Projects appointed as the builder.

One-bedroom apartments are available from as low as $385,000, extremely affordable for a first home buyer.
