Tony 'Plugger' Lockett buys in Cabarita Beach

The Swans legend Tony 'Plugger' Lockett can add 'King of the Hill' to his list of nicknames.

Well, that's how his new $3.28 million acquisition at Cabarita Beach was marketed.

Lockett, now a specialist forward coach at the Swans, and wife Vicki have been shuffling around their property portfolio in recent months, culminated in the recent purchase on the north coast.

It all started when they listed Roscoe Park, their longtime Southern Highlands retreat, last year.

They secured $4.2 million for the Moss Vale home which was bought by Michelle Cameron, wife of Suncorp executive Michael Cameron.

The 40 hectare estate, that cost $1.2 mililon when Lockett retired the first time, features a six bedroom house and an indoor pool complex.

He took up cattle farming and greyhound racing. 

After the Southern Highlands sale, Lockett had hinted it was time for a sea change as their four daughters were almost all grown up. 

They signalled they didn't intend leaving the Highlands all together however as in another property move, the Lockett's have secured a 750 square metres land parcel in Braemar, a northern village of the Southern Highlands near Mittagong for $820,000. 

The rejigging of their property has included the sale of a two bedroom investment apartment at Mollymook on the NSW south coast.

The apartment in the beachfront Mariners block of six had a $799,000 guide and was snapped up in 23 days through LJ Hooker Ulladulla agent Gary Cox.

Lockett, who scored 1,360 goals in a career of 281 games, starting in 1983 with St Kilda and ending in 2002 with the Swans, sits at less than his playing days weights as a recent strict diet see him go from from 125 kilograms to 97.

He can when tempted use the internal lift at the opulent five-level home at Cabarita Beach.

Plugger won't be up and down the stairs, with an internal lift servicing each level.

Dubbed King of the Hill by Coastal Real Estate Group selling agent Mason Garten, the home has panoramic views from its oceanfront position atop Cabarita Headland.

The luxury home spanning 1090 square metres has five bedrooms, an executive home office, billiards room and an outdoor swimming pool and spa.

A whole level master retreat has its own private lounge, gym, dressing room, ensuite and balcony.

The rooftop entertaining terrace has approvals for creating an entertaining space with bar and cabana.

The couple have owned elsewhere in the area.
