The Block take-home prizes through history as The Block 2012 contestants collectively pocket $1.74 million above hammer price reserve
It was quite a life-changing take-home windfall for The Block 2012 contestants especially against the backdrop of three contestants who pocketed nothing for their 10-week renovating prowess.
Property Observer takes a look back at the prizes the contestants on The Block over the five series have won since the 2003 debut. The overall under the hammer clearance rate stands at 80%. Three contestants got their winnings following post-auction negotiations.

The contestants made internal renovation decisions that showed each terrace had a different layout and style.
