Sydney Roosters head coach Trent Robinson and wife Sandra scored $2.51 million when their Waverley home went to auction yesterday.

Phillips Pantzer Donnelley agent Debbie Donnelley had been marketing the home with a price guide of $2.3 million.

But keen interest from five bidders saw auctioneer Damien Cooley knock it down to the last bidding entrant, a young first-home buyer couple who bid up from their $2,485,000 initial offer.

The Robinsons intend to trade up in the eastern suburbs, looking to move closer to the beach.

The Waverley home was bought for $1,815,000 in 2014, a year after Robinson took the top job at the club.

Bordering Clovelly, the two-level, three-bedroom home on 210 square metres has two living areas separated by a new kitchen.

Robinson met Sandra, from the French village of Montrabe, while coaching with Toulouse and Catalans. They returned to Australia in 2013.
