Veteran Sydney jockey Glyn Schofield, who finished fourth onboard Le Romain in The Everest last month, has failed to flip the Tamarama apartment he bought just last year.

The apartment, that cost Schofield $2.3 million last year, passed in at the same price at its recent auction, so it's staying as an investment with $1,550 a week tenants.

McGrath Edgecliff agent Simon Exleton, who also sold Schofield the unit, said he is happy to hang on to the apartment and re-list in the new year.

Spanning 120 square metres, the unit has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large balcony.

It sits in the boutique Pertama complex of just 10 apartments, with only two per floor.

The Marchese Architects-designed building was brand new when Schofield early last year.

Schofield has racked up over $50 million in prize money for his owners over his illustrious 18 year career.
