Shadow assistant federal treasurer Stephen Jones and wife Julie have bought a $690,000 home in his electorate of Whitlam, south of Sydney.

The couple snapped up the Mount Warrigal home, near Shellharbour, just five days in to its marketing campaigning.

They paid towards the top end of the $660,000 to $699,000 guide.

The brick-built, 1970s home on 645 square metres has four bedrooms and one bathroom and views of the escarpment, lake and ocean from nearly every room.

The family are moving from Keiraville, where they have been since 2011.
