Helen Stamoulis, the matriarch of the soft-drink Stamoulis family, is seeking $22 million for the grant St Georges Road, Toorak home.

It’s down the road from the home of her son Harry, who famously knocked down the former Baillieu family home and built a new mansion expected to be one of the most costly builds in the country.

Helen’s home is being marketed as Toorak’s premier residence by Marshall White’s Marcus Chiminello.

The 1940s Bates Smart McCutcheon stately home cost Stamoulis $14.5 million in 2011.

Set in 1,445 sqm of landscaped grounds which feature a floodlit tennis court and swimming pool, the home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a formal sitting room with an open fireplace, custom study, rumpus room with wet bar and a billiards room.

Daughter Melina recently emerged as a $10,725,000 house buyer nearby.

Helen is the widow of the late Spiro Stamoulis, who built the Gold Medal soft-drink empire which sold in 2004 to Cadbury Schweppes. The family opened The Hellenic Museum in 2009, two years after Spiro died of cancer.
