Singer and violinist Lara Goodridge has sold her Victorian terrace in Newtown for a suburb record $3.8 million.

Goodridge has added a new terrace and a Tuscan-style swimming pool to the three bedroom Watkin Street home she paid $1,783,000 for in 2009.

It had a $3 million price guidance with Ray White Surry Hills agent Ercan Ersan, who sold the home before its scheduled auction.

The marketing suggested the home could be reconfigured to five bedrooms.

The home topped the previous suburb record set in August last year when medicos Gregory and Stefanie Fox paid $3.76 million for a four bedroom home on Warren Ball Avenue.
