Former Carlyle Group managing director Simon Moore has traded up beach houses in a big way, spending $8.05 million on a Bronte home.

Moore recently sold his award-winning Great Mackerel beach house for $2.675 million.

His new Bronte home has been owned by Deane family for around 48 years until sold by Wayne Yates and Steven Zoellner of Laing + Simmons.

His award-winning Pittwater house was designed by Dawson Brown Architecture for wine consultant Douglas-James Robertson in 2003.

Moore bought the property for $3.25 million in 2006.

He recently spent $6 million purchase on a farm in Wantagong in southern NSW.
