Shrublands estate on Canterbury’s Golden Mile listed for sale

The expansive Shrublands mansion, on Canterbury’s Golden Mile, has come onto the market for just the third time in its 160-year history.

Located at 16 Balwyn Road, the home and surrounding grounds occupy a 6500 square metre block.

It features nine bedrooms, nine bathrooms, 10 car spaces, a tennis court, basement cinema, billiards room, wine cellar, gym large lounge, caretaker's residence, landscaped gardens, an indoor pool, heated piazza, and even its own board room.

Since its establishment in the 1860’s, only three different families have occupied the residence.

Jock Langley and Simon Curtain, from Abercromby's Real Estate Armadale, listed the sale.

The SOI document provided with the listing estimates a price tag of $42 million to 46 million.
