Sea Eagle Martin Taupau secures Botany 'forever home'
Manly Sea Eagle Martin Taupau and new fiancee, NRL's indigenous engagement manager Michelle Baillie, have secured what they described as one of their 'forever homes'.
Taupau posted a boomerang video to his Instagram followers of the couple jumping for joy in front of the sold sign.
It was accompanied with the caption '#TEAMKAPOW just bought the first of our forever homes!'
The post was followed a day later by a picture of a wedding ring.
They've paid $1,435,000 for a three level home in the Eastern Suburbs.
The Botany home spans three levels and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Two of the bedrooms open to their own balcony.
The open plan kitchen and dining room overlook the courtyard set amid established trees on its 265 square metre parcel.
The home doubled in price before its recent sales through NG Farah Little Bay agent David Lee, who sold the home in 55 days.
Taupau, a New Zealand international, has been with the Sea Eagles since he left the troubled Tigers in 2016.
The prop's four-year deal with Manly was leaked on Twitter by a Canadian arts writer who was sent the details by mistake.
Having moved to Sydney from Auckland when he was 10, Taupau began his career at the Bulldogs but couldn't hammer down a first team place over his three year stint.
He joined the Tigers for the 2014 season and played in every game that season, a season which was crowned by winning the 2014 Rugby League Four Nations with the Kiwis.
Last year he enrolled in a bachelor of business degree.
