An 1890 Hunters Hill sandstone house was sold by Tracey Dixon and Nicholas Cowdrill from McGrath Hunters Hill last month.

Reinvented by architect Kerry Fyfe from Allen Jack and Cottier, the contemporary home features water views.

Located at 27 Glenview Crescent, it comes with four bedrooms, formal and informal living areas, expansive timber balconies and gourmet island kitchen.

Other features include swimming pool, four marble fireplaces, rosewood parquetry flooring and double garage.

It's only a stroll to Hunters Hill Village, shops, cafes and CBD transport.

The property had last sold at $770,000 in 1991.

Its contents have been listed under instructions from the vendors due to the recent sale.

Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions have been appointed to sell the Victorian mahogany Dining table and sideboard, modular lounge suite, Aboriginal paintings by Gabriella Possum and Jeannie Pitjarra, Art of Stone chairs, fine Inlaid silk Keshan carpet, various Persian tribal rugs, Gillie and Marc and Mark Hanham paintings, and a large outdoor Children’s bronze.
