One of Perth's most iconic beachfront homes, the recently completed Sandcastles, is set to hit the market next month.

The home was designed by James Shaw from Ecotect Architects and constructed by hand from sold limestone by Perth stonemason Albert Dietz.

Comprising three levels and an elevator, the home has six bedrooms, four bathrooms and a swimming pool.

There's also a separate self-contained apartment on the estate that is set on one of the largest and most elevated parcels on the South City Beach waterfront.

Scott Swinger at Space Real Estate Cottesloe has the listing.

The City Beach residential record has stood since 2012, when a non-waterfront fetched $7.2 million. It was listed in 2015 for $9 million but no buyer emerged.

The most recent big money sale in the area was last June when a five bedroom home by Giorgi Architects & Builders sold for $5.75 million.
