Plans have been unveiled to build Adelaide’s tallest tower behind the Freemasons Hall.

A 160m-high tower is proposed for North Terrace.

The $120 million proposal includes a mix of hotel, student accommodation, office and hospitality spaces.

The city’s Freemasons branch are considering the proposal which would raise funds for repairs to their 1920s heritage-listed building.

The Adelaide Advertiser advised a joint-venture partner was likely to be sought.

It has been estimated around $9 million is needed for rectifications.

The proposal includes 200 hotel rooms and 204 student accommodation beds across at least 33 storeys inspired by the architectural principle of Entasis.
