The Darling Point home of Steve Duchen and wife Polly, has finally sold following its auction last September which attracted no bids.

Duchen, who was an internet currency trading pioneer in the mid-1990s, is the buyer of the $14.25 million Omnia, Kings Cross penthouse.

His six-bedroom Darling Point Road mansion (pictured) had initial $8 million hopes, which were adjusted to $6.8 million last month.

The three level home was renovated after being bought in 2013 for $4.55 million from former Racing NSW chairman Alan Brown and wife Belinda.

Duchen is best known for developing the Linnaeus residential estate, outside Byron Bay.
