"Inspired by the essence of coastal refinement" How Plus Architecture designed Belvue Runaway Bay
Global design practice Plus Architecture were engaged to design the luxury $130 million Runaway Bay apartment tower, Belvue.
Their design inspiration came from the Belvue’s highly coveted waterfront location, set on the last east-facing high-rise opportunity in the Gold Coast suburb.
"Inspired by the essence of coastal refinement, these luxurious contemporary residences offer timeless design, elegant finishes and breathtaking views," Plus Architecture Director Danny Juric said.
"Embodying an opulent aesthetic, the building’s curved form reflects the ebb and flow of the ocean with the façade becoming an extension of its breathtaking location."
The tower design is fully orientated to take advantage of its waterfront location. Each of the 31 full floor apartments feature an atrium dining space, which Juric says will make residents feel they are dining right on the water's edge with the glowing city skyline as the backdrop.
"[The atrium will] transform a regular dining party into a cosmopolitan soiree," Juric said.
Each kitchen features a solid island bench carved from Taj Mahal stone, as well as a generously sized butler's pantry and integrated Gaggenau appliances.
There are three bedrooms in each apartment, as well as a multi-purpose room, three bathrooms, and two car spaces.
On offer at Belvue are three villas at the foot of the building, each featuring their own private courtyard.
Residents of both the villas and the apartments will have access to Belvue's extensive hotel-like amenity.
There will be a gym next to the main pool, as well as a barbecue pavilion, while past the tower is a second pool, overlooking the water.
There's also a sauna and a steam room, as well as poolside cabanas, and a private terrace leading down to the beach.
Prices for the 273 sqm apartments start from $3,545,000. The development-approved project is targeted to be complete by mid-2025.
