Aria set for new South Brisbane apartment tower after council nod
Tim Forrester's Aria Property Group is set to continue its transformation of South Brisbane with another sustainable apartment development approved.
They've been given the green light by the Brisbane City Council to develop a new tower on a triple block at 164-190 Melbourne Street, where the former Malouf's Fruit Shop and Bond's Sweet Factory once stood.
The sustainably conscious developer, known for their signature rooftop amenity and sustainability efforts, will be constructing a new apartment tower at 33 Manning Street, on the corner of Melbourne and Manning Streets—the first of three towers across the amalgamated site.
Aria has collaborated with Bates Smart and Richards & Spence for the design and development of the approved tower, slated to feature 84 apartments spread across 14 levels, along with extensive rooftop amenities.
The design statement submitted to the Brisbane City Council emphasised the tower's spacious dwellings catering to a diverse population, including families and students.
The design emphasises natural light, cross ventilation, and practical living considerations, including private bedrooms, generous kitchens, and flexible living spaces.
The tower's amenities include a commercial gym on the first level, a 20-metre pool at the heart of the rooftop, a plunge pool with city views, an amphitheatre for evening cinema, and a residents' dining room.
The new project adds to Aria's portfolio in South Brisbane, following their successful Trellis development known for its sustainable features and their flagship development, The Standard, located in the vibrant Fish Lane precinct.
