One of Perth's most prized homes has hit the market at Mosman Park.

The walled Chidley Way riverfront reserve mansion was built by Burswood Casino founder Dallas Dempster in the 1980s.

Much traded in the last decade, it has been offered by eye surgeon Phillip McGeorge and wife Katherine who have transformed the home since their $11 million acquisition in 2012.

The McGeorge's undertook a two year renovation at the home which is largely limestone and glass.

A 25 metre lap pool runs along the front of the home which William Porteous at William Porteous Properties International Dalkeith is seeking offers around $16 million.

The McGeorge's bought the home on Chidley Point from the property developer Luke Saraceni who had paid $16 million for the home in 2008.

Its earlier owners included stockbroker and mining company investor David Rigoll; the Firepower boss Tim Johnston and wife Sandra; and Lorraine Copley.

Perth's top sale this year has been the Taj on Swan site in Peppermint Grove for $17 million to businessman John Gillett, a former Moran Health Care executive.

The highest house sale was when the Seven West media tycoon Kerry Stokes spent $11 million on an inbetween home in Dalkeith.

He bought the home of mining company chairman Dr Wolf Martinick as a bolthole while he rebuilds his longtime riverfront mansion.
