The classic period home at 84 Palace Street has broken the suburb record.

It offers four bedrooms, formal and informal living area, gourmet chef's kitchen, separate guest studio and two car space.

The home also features pool, library or study, alfresco entertaining and established gardens.

Set on a 564sqm block, it is situated within close proximity to Petersham Station, village shops, cafes and parks.

There were eight to nine registered bidders, mostly young families, according to Hassen.
