Peter Andre's Benowa Waters childhood home listed for sale
The former Gold Coast home of the UK based pop star Peter Andre has been listed for sale.
His childhood home at Benowa Waters will go under the hammer this month.
The 43 year old now lives in a Sussex mansion in England.
He grew up in the home with his four brothers and sisters and attended Benowa State High School after his father Savvas Andrea, 84, built the home in 1986 after the family moved from Sydney.
Mr Andre said he built homes on Sovereign Islands before deciding to settle his family in Benowa Waters.
“I built two houses on the Sovereign Island and I was going to build a house for my family there, too, but there were too many sandflies,” the grandfather told the local paper.
“I had a construction business called SavVillas. My sons were still in high school at the time, so they worked for me.”
The home with six bedrooms and four bathrooms has been listed by Lucy Cole Prestige Properties agent Lucy Cole.
She said Andre’s parents were packing up to be with their grandchildren in London.
The home on its 970 sqm Cabana Blvd block - which Cole suggests channels a Mediterranean style - will go to auction on January 28.
Known worldwide for his song Mysterious Girl, Andre found his fame on the Gold Coast when he became a contestant on Australian television talent show New Faces.
